Further information
The Aare is the longest river in Switzerland and starts it’s journey high up above the Grimselpass. The trip from Meiringen to Thun is really the crowning jewel of sea kayak paddling in the Jungfrau Region, starting on the river in Haslital crossing both Lakes of Brienz and Thun and the Aare through Interlaken. With rivers, turquoise lakes and fantastic mountain scenery there’s not much more you could ask for.
The trip includes sections of grade II and 53km of paddling on lakes and rivers and it is necessary to have some prior experience on the river and a good foundation in forwards paddling technique. Attendance of our River/Tide Race and Lake Training courses or equivalent would be advantageous. Overnight options include camping or hotel nearby in Bönigen.
